Rooted Youth Leader Announcer
Purpose
To clearly communicate important information while building culture, excitement, and ownership within the youth group.
Announcements are not filler. They are leadership moments.
1. Be Prepared
Arrive early.
Connect with the Youth Pastor on any questions.
Make sure you are fully “in the loop.”
Confirm dates, times, sign-ups, costs, and details.
Nothing kills momentum like confusion.
2. Be Clear & Concise
Speak confidently.
Be organized.
Don’t ramble.
Don’t overload them with unnecessary details.
Repeat important information twice.
If it’s important, say it clearly. If it’s urgent, say it boldly.
3. Make It Engaging
Have fun with it.
Use energy.
Smile.
Ask the room questions.
Get reactions.
Occasionally invite students to give announcements.
Let students:
Share about an event.
Remind others about sign-ups.
Hype an upcoming night.
Ownership builds investment.
4. Remind Them About Giving & Tithing
Each week, briefly remind students:
There is an opportunity to give and tithe to honor the Lord.
Pass the basket respectfully and confidently.
Give a short reminder like:
“We give because God first gave to us.”
“We tithe to honor God and trust Him as our provider.”
“We are learning to be good stewards of what God has blessed us with.”
Keep it short. Keep it biblical. Keep it consistent.
5. Teach Stewardship
Remember:
We are preparing students for adulthood and adult church.
We are teaching them:
Faithfulness
Responsibility
Generosity
Stewardship
Tithing is not about money. It’s about trust and obedience.
Help them understand that everything they have belongs to God, including THEIR youth group
6. Tone & Delivery
Be upbeat but respectful.
Don’t rush.
Don’t drag.
Make eye contact.
Speak clearly.
Be confident.
Energy matters, but clarity matters more.
7. Heart Behind It
Announcements are not just information.
They:
Invite students into community.
Call them into generosity.
Teach responsibility.
Prepare them for lifelong faithfulness.
You are shaping habits that will follow them into adulthood.
